About Us

At Village Cohousing Works, we believe everyone deserves the chance to feel safe, supported, and rooted in community. With support from donors, we build affordable, energy-efficient homes and sell them at cost to low-income families in North Spokane. Together, we’re creating not just houses, but stronger, more resilient communities where everyone has the chance to thrive.

We’re helping families put down roots in Takesa Village Homeowners Cooperative, a resident-owned community in Mead, WA. Here, low-income families have a rare chance to own their homes, build equity, and belong- all within a stable, caring neighborhood free from the uncertainty of rising rents.
