North Spokane needs affordable housing now more than ever!

Updated: Sep 7, 2023

Catastrophic wildfires just made our housing crisis worse.

Hard-working families in north Spokane County were already struggling to find a home. Rents have gone up as much as 300% since 2020, housing inventories are at record lows and home prices have skyrocketed.

Now, more than 120 homes have been lost in the Oregon Road fire, near Elk. You can help with a donation to Village Cohousing Works.

Village Cohousing Works is the only non-profit group addressing the need for permanent, affordable housing in north Spokane county.

We are raising money to build ten quality, affordable manufactured homes in Takesa Village, a resident-owned community in Mead. VCW will sell these homes to qualified low-income buyers, allowing the owners to create equity, stability and community.

We are already half way to installing our first home! FILL THE HOUSE with us. Donate here.
