What makes a home?

Our team interviewed families and individuals experiencing housing insecurity in north Spokane County. From spending too much of their income on rent or staying in unsafe circumstances, to living doubled up in another's space, camping along the road or on a friend's property - all these folks shared something in common: a desire for safety, stability, and connection.

Housing that prioritizes relationships improves financial & emotional stability, and promotes a greater sense of well being.

Changes in relationships are a common theme for those in difficult housing circumstances.

Community relationships and family can redeem any living situation.

For low income families in the north county, maintaining housing is a struggle; with help, stability and permanence can be within reach.

A stable place shared in the context of loving relationships is a home.

Your donation to Village Cohousing Works contributes to permanent housing for people like these. Please consider a monthly contribution to make decent housing accessible in north Spokane. Donate here.
